Statement of Purpose
Statement of purpose is a document reflecting the personality and the subject interest of the student. It gives the students a chance to impress the university by introducing themselves as an individual and stating the reason for enrollment in the selected university and course. The document seeks to understand the candidate’s life, the motivations for the chosen career path and his/her goals. It is the document in application that gives students the opportunity to prove that they have something unique that makes them stand out from the crowd.
The SOP should contain following important elements:- Personal background
- Financial background
- Academic details
- Professional experience (full , part-time , voluntary)
- Immediate and long- term goals
- Reason why you wish to study at this particular institution
- Reason of being interested in a chosen field
- About extracurricular activities
- Published work, if any
- Papers submitted, if any
- Interests, hobbies
